Background —

Diamond Interiors were proud to partner Sheffield City Council in the multi-million refurbishment of council house offices.

The huge office refurbishment program is designed to save Sheffield City Council more than £2.4 million-per-year. But to make the savings the Diamond Interiors team working with project leaders Frank Shaw Associates needed to make huge changes to two buildings ensuring minimum disruption to staff and members of the public.

The Brief —

The Diamond Interiors team approached the mammoth project over three phases. The project involved the supply of office furniture supply, design and planning and the recycling of former furniture.

Phase one involved Diamond refurbishing the 4th Floor South Wing phase, installing furniture for more than 80 staff – as well as removing and recycling the existing furniture.

Phase two involved the complicated refurbishment of the 4th Floor North Wing of Howden House in a single weekend. This involved recycling existing furniture before designing and installing brand new furniture, all designed to save space and enhance working environments. The area accommodates around 100 members of staff and involved the careful utilisation of underused space as well as the redesign of office spacing.

The third and final phase involved the relocation of more than 180 staff on the 5th floor of the building.

The Result —

The result was simply stunning. A complete refurbishment completed on time and under budget with zero disruption to staff or more importantly members of the project.

The three phased approached ensured a focused commitment to the Diamond Interiors team who all worked beyond the call of duty to ensure the tightest of tight deadlines were adhered too and the job completed to a high standard.
